Is it possible to put the CCD or CMOS sensor from one camcorder to another?

I'm just curious!

For example you take ur dead camera but you love it! So you buy a new one but just put the CCD to the old one and toss the new one. I know this is kinda stupid but I just wanna know!

It is possible to replace the imager of a camcorder. It may be very difficult for some people to do it properly.

No.

I said replace the imager, not substitute the imager.

It is not impossible, but it would probably cost you more to do than to just buy whatever it is you are trying to accomplish.
