XH A1 does not work with 4 to 9 pins Firewire

Hello folks,
I have bought a new IEEE 1394 Firewire with 4 to 9 pins. The camera end is exactly the same as older 4-6 pins cable, only computer end has a new 9 pin terminal for new Mac Pro computer. But for some reason, computer does not see it, it can't detect it. Final Cut Pro gives me a warning that capture device can not be detected, so I am not sure if I only need to change the capturing settings, or if XH A1 just does not work with this new Firewire. Does anybody have a similar problem?
Thank you so much for any input.
Cheers.

The 9 pin connector is for FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) which came out several years ago. It is supposed to maintain backwards compatibility. A few people have reported no problems with camcorders. They did need a new cable. Your's should work.

Hello poncho,
thanks for your response. It looks like that fire wire terminal is broken. I had taken that camera to Apple store and it did not work with any of their computers. It did not even work with 4-6 pin fire wire.
So thanks again
