This is the expanded announcement with all the details in the website's "Message Boards" or traditional forums. Up until now, the ID (Username and Password) used in the forums was also usable to make a comment on a Review, News Article, or Blog entry.
We are expanding the commenting system used for those areas. Existing comments to reviews are being imported, but due to the encryption on user passwords and a desire to make a "clean new system", we are going to need to ask you "remake" your Username and Password to use the new system. This new ID is ONLY needed on the "web side" where you comment on the Reviews, News, and Blogs.
These existing Message Board forums and their logins will NOT be changing nor going away! The new ID will be independent of them. You will still use a Message Board ID on the forums at each site to hold in-depth discussions and bring up questions and techniques in new message threads.
One advantage you'll see is that once you make the new Reviewed.com Commenting ID is that you will be able to use this "across our sites". For example, if you make the ID at
www.CamcorderInfo.com and contribute a comment to a review there, there will be no need to re-register nor even log in when you comment on an article at
www.WirelessInfo.com ! Nor at
www.HeadphoneInfo.com ,
www.PrinterInfo.com nor at any of our sister sites! More will be coming soon, and your new ID will work there! In fact, we encourage you to visit those other sites if they are areas that interest you, and engage in the community there. A neat new feature on
www.Reviewed.com is the ability to contribute your own reviews. We encourage everyone to go to the camcorder section on
www.Reviewed.com now and write a review of your own camcorder!
When you register for the new Commenting ID, please go ahead and use your the same username as you now have in the "forums" or discussion boards already if you wish. These will be unaffected by this change to the new comment and article commenting system. You may reuse the same password if you wish, or take this opportunity to create a newer stronger one! (eg. M1xTEd CasE and numbers).
You may still make a new ID for the forums (Message Boards) at the new sites when launched.
Our standard guidelines still apply to all posts, in the message boards and in the new commenting system -
No profanity or obscenity. You will be "known" and your reputation gathered by your posting, so if you want your name to carry good reputation, make your posts well-thought out and contributing, with good spelling and grammar. You don't have to agree with the content of the review or blog, but do support your opinions and conclusions well with facts and relaying your experiences and thoughts to the discussions! Avoid getting into personal attacks on other posters - these aren't edifying to read and won't make your own stance look very authoritative if you just "call names". No spam, non-human ('bot) posts, links for the sake of search engine placement, etc.
We are sure you'll find the new blog and article commenting system to be quick and easy to use after you make your new ID. I invite you to do so now, and even write your own review at
www.Reviewed.com or suggest one! Go to
http://www.Reviewed.com , click on the upper right link "Click to login", then click on "New Account" and enter your information (email address, desired Username, desired password, password again to confirm, and click SignUp).
You'll now be logged in to the new Comment system at all the sites. When you return later, you can "log in" as you make a comment (if you're not logged in, you'll be presented with the username/password box as well as the comment entry box).
Once you register, our admins will read your first comment and approve you for commenting before it shows publicly. From then on your comments will appear immediately.
The new comment system will read BB code, the standard formating that you can use in vBulliten and other popular message board software. For a list of the different BB codes you can use, visit this link
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode.
You will also be able to "format" your comment by using <Carriage Return> or <Enter>. If there is a problem with "vertical spam", we will have to restrict this. But it is nice for "user formatting" and making paragraphs (2 CRs in a row).
Welcome to the new commenting system!
The www.Reviewed.com team and family of www.CamcorderInfo.com, www.WifelessInfo.com, www.PrinterInfo.com, www.HeadphoneInfo.com, www.DigitalCameraInfo.com, and more coming soon!
Please comment below on the new system! Suggestions are welcome, as of course errors discovered. The announcement in the new comment system itself is at
