Unhappy Elura 100 gets no power

I am pretty sure my 2 year old Elura 100 is dead. It gets no power from 2 different batteries charged by an external charger and no power when plugged into the adapter directly into the wall. Nothing happens - totally dead.

Any other ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix it without sending it to Canon?

If it is going to remain totally dead - what is the best way to get the tape out since it seems to require power to open the compartment? Is there some sort of manual override besides a hammer?

Really strange because I don't use it that much and can't figure out what would have caused this.

Thanks,

Marc

Just for grins, try replacing the battery next to the SD card.

No Luck replacing the battery

Anyone got any other ideas.

I am seriously considering paying the $157 to have it repaired.

Seems like a good deal for a refurb on a camera I like and already have accessories for.

Thoughts on this?
