Red/Green Color Bleeding on Edges

Hi,

I've been testing my new XH-A1 and it seems to have some bizarre color bleeding problem. Light/dark transitions severely bleed red or green into the light part. The problem is oriented horizontally, left to right. Left to right, light to dark transitions bleed red, and dark to light transition bleed green.

Shooting the same scenes with my Sony Fx1 doesn't produce this problem.

Anybody else seen this?

Cheers,
landrew

I think I've determined that it is simply chromatic aberration from the wide angle lens. So, this is what you should expect if you use Canon's WD-H72 wide angle lens with your XH-A1. Not very useful!

So it doesn't happen on your cam using only the standard lens?

Now that I know what the problem is, I'll do some more detailed tests and post the results. I figure I should test the standard lens at the full range of zooms and at different stops, and likewise with the wide angle adapter.

So far for the image I posted, I've determined that the error in the red channel is on the order of .25 percent, i.e. off by 1/4 pixel per 100 pixels out from the center of the image.

Cheers,
Landrew
