I'm Buying Vegas_Matt or anyone that can help

I'm Buying Vegas

Okay, I'm officially done with Pinnacle. It has been nothing but problems for two years now. The latest issue is with key frames. For some reason, when I key frame a zoom IN, it zooms OUT first leaving black bars on the video for a second. Pinnacle's only advice was to reinstall it. Last time I installed it it took me a few days and I don't remember how I did it.

I am considering getting Vegas as well. I am now using 10.7 Pinnacle. I order Pinnacle 11 and installed it. I am not satisfied with it. I just have too keep ordering differ things, I have had enough. This and that keeps popping up.

I am not a pro but I do know my way around Pinnacle 10.7. It does pretty much what I want it to do except make good slideshows.

Will Vegas do as well as Pinnacle 10? Plus can I make good, and I mean good slideshows with Vegas.

Should I keep Pinnacle 10 and get a separated program foe the slideshows?
If so what program would you get for the slideshows?

If you think I should get Vegas, which one should I buy?

Vegas Movie Studio

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum

Vegas Pro

I know the most expensive one is the best, But will one of the less expensive one serve my propose. I know the finale decision lies with me, but you can suggest.

Thanks for the Help

I replied to your PM Don.

Forgot to mention one thing though - make sure you check the internet price if you are buying it in a store. Best Buy's website had the Platinum version priced at $99, but it was marked $130 in the store. I told them it was cheaper online, and they *corrected the error.

I used Sony Vegas 7 Pro. Depends on your budget. Either Vegas Movie Studio Platinum or Vegas Pro. You can compare here:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com...tudiope/compare

You can get Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum Edition for about $90 or Vegas Pro 8 for about $450:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_g...ords=sony+vegas

I would download the demo just to try it and make sure it works on your system. There are portions which don't work on the demo.

For slideshows, I like to use this program:
http://www.dvd-photo-slideshow.com/

It costs $60, but IMO, they could easily sell it for more, because it does so much. One reason I bought it is because you can make a slideshow on DVD that will play on stand alone DVD players & will contain all the JPGs used, so if anyone wants to print out copies or have copies made, they have the source image on the DVD. It also allows you to output in iPod format, have alot of "chapters", do simple editing to the photos, etc.
