New Owner of HG10

I just ordered the HG10 and will be recieviing it on Monday. I just have a couple newbie questions:

1) Does shooting in a certain mode make it easier or harder to transfer videos to a PC? I guess I'm asking if shooting in the highest quality, is it as simple as connecting the HG10 to my pc transferring it via USB and I'll be able to instantly watch it??

2) If I wanted to shoot videos just to put on youtube, should I shoot in the lowest quality?

3) Whats the best user-friendly editing software to use? I'm hearing the accompanied software isn't so great.

Whats the process of shooting footage and then transferring it to my pc to view? I assumed it was a simple task. Any help is appreciated.

Download Operation Manual from Canon's website and read it.
