Will My Laptop Handle Editing??

I currently have a Toshiba laptop that I purchased earlier this year. It has a 1.5ghz dual-core centrino processor, Intel 9300 xpress graphics card, 3gb of Ram, and 200gb drive. I also have a 500gb external drive available. It also has the capability of playing HD DVDs if that makes any difference. I purchased this laptop prior to the HD DVD announcement. Will my laptop handle any editing?

I just purchased the HG10 a few days ago but haven't really tried doing anything as of yet.

You Could Do A Short Test

If you want to see how the laptop does, put a few photos or video clips from any source (not AVCHD) on the laptop and use Windows Moviemaker (it is already installed) to splice them into a movie. See if Moviemaker zips along or bogs down. If it bogs down, then you know it isn't worth the time to install all of the software you would need for the HG10 AVCHD videos because AVCHD takes even more system resources.
