MG730 DOES have a mic input!

According to the B&H specifications, the GZ-MG730 DOES in fact have a microphone input. Can anyone with experience with it please tell me how the video compares to the MG555? I am considering both...would much appreciate it.

I would double check that with official specifications, I have one of these cameras next to me at this very minute and can confirm there is no dedicated microphone plug on the camera.
There is however an AV input, wheather you can plug a mic in to that and it doesn't cut out the video? Well I don't know. But it doesn't have the typical "mic" badged plug on it as the 555/505/575 models.

AV inputs are not microphone inputs.

AV inputs are audio and video inputs used at the same time.

You may not have AV inputs anyway, most likely outputs.
