Hung a big picture...
Rather than YouTube or Vimeo, I wanted to make videos to hang off my sites ..as sales tools rather than entertainment. ..and I want them large. I figure the potential quality of HD rubs off on the quality of my products. (guilt by association..)
As a Mac user, I prefer the simple path and don't have the inclination to look past the first 20% of an app, so I found the connection of my HF10 and my iMac a little frustrating. Now that I have iMovie '08 - stage one is solved.
Stage two was encoding the video to post .. and I find that somewhat confusing, given I only have a few minutes daily to give to the problem. I then found another app that seems to be the ticket: http://dvcreators.net/dvccast/ I used it to make my test video. The only thing I have to figure out: both Firefox and Safari simply static load the video (Large for 1min!) and you have to dbl click to start it?! My customers need an auto-start presentation. Still, I'm impressed with the results from the camera given that it was, as if, I was wearing mittens and drunk while making it.
