You can not change the lens of the Canon XH A1. I assume you can add a telephoto adapter but I am not familiar with which ones might work.

I moved you post to appropriate forum.

If you find a tele-photo with a 72mm thread, you MAY have a problem attaching the lens to the XHA-1 as CANON has special threading. I tried a SONY 72MM and it did not work. However, I have read tha RAYNOX will adapt to the threading.

The Canon wide angle is a perfect example. It will not fit on any SONY models due to the thread configuration specific to Canon.

That's VERY interesting, however I'm wondering why I haven't heard about this before? Surely there must be lots of A1 users on here that have tried fitting non-Canon accessories to the front of the lens? In fact I have a non-Canon UV filter on my XH-A1 and that fits the thread fine

The problem I had with the SONY 72MM from my FX-1 was the threads on the wide angle were not deep enough to properly seat on my Canon. I would suggest that the user bring their camera into a local store and make sure the lens will fit before dishing out 400 dollars for a good lens.
