How do I share HD Clips from a HDRSR11?

I am looking at purchasing a Sony HDRSR11. What I don't understand is ho I will share my High Definition movies with my friends? At the moment I shoot in SD, render in Sony Vegas and Burn to a DVD with Sony DVD Architect. EASY.
Am I right in understanding that my new HD clips will be rendered to Standard Definition unless I put them on to BLUE RAY disk via a Blue Ray Burner? Is Blue Ray Disk the only way to share my High Def Movies?

You can burn AVCHD files on regular DVDs. These play back on Sony blu-ray players on HiDef TV monitors at 1080i resolution. This is done using the Sony software you get with the Camcorder. Very easy and straighforward.
Only drawbacks are:1) you can put about 35 minutes on 4.7GB DVDs.
2) There is 1/2 sec or so delay in playing between clips.
3) Your friends will need BD player.
Best regards............

As above, you can record AVCHD on a regular DVD and playback on a BluRay player. My player will play dual layer DVD's. If have a dual layer burner in your PC this will double your capacity.
In addition you can transfer your edited movie back to your camcorder hard drive, then playback on your friend's HDTV from your camcorder using either an HDMI cable or the supplied component AV cable.
