Nero 8 AVCHD Editing

Folks,

I'm a pro DSLR shooter doing weddings, but I just decided to play with video, and I just got the Canon HF10 AVCHD camcorder.

Ok, I know zip about video, and frankly I'm not looking to get into wedding videography...I just want to learn enough to have some personal time with it, simple family footage, etc, so my needs are not hard core.

To my question, given my needs, will Nero 8 fit the bill?

I want an editing program that minimally does the following:

Import native AVCHD format from an AVCHD camcorder. Edit it in native mode. Write it back out in native format. It must be able to read AVCHD native Canon files straight out of the camcorder, and be able to write it back, AND is playable on same camera. I am archiving the raw files to 1TB external harddrives, and at least for now, care little about burning to DVD's.

Will Nero do this? Judging from their web site, it seems that it does....I think....their spec sheet has a bit to be desired.

I like that Nero is cheap in cost too.....if it matters, I have a Dual Core Fujitso laptop, running AMD's TL-60 X2 64-bit processor, 200GB harddrive, 3GB ram....what are your thoughts?

Thanks a bunch!
