Magic Wire extender
Concerning the PVGS500. I'm trying to find a way to extend the cable of the magic wire remote control. Since I'm trying to remotely control the camera from behind, and also from a distance, the wireless remote isn't useful. The connector looks like a mini audio jack but has three black lines on it.
Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm not sure of the terminology but it might be what's called a "tip, ring, sleeve" (TRS) connector. You could simply try finding a cord with the same kind of plug and connector on each end and connecting them.
You can probably find something like this at Radio Shack. It will probably have a different name. Just make sure the plug is the same as your Magic wire and the socket is the same as on your cam.
Good luck.

Thanks Dennis
But the real problem is the plug itself. It has three indentions/lines on the shank of the plug, which I am almost sure are contact points for different remote functions, just like as on a LANC plug, but a LANC plug is smaller. Finding an extension cable that has these three contact points on its shank is the problem.
The plug looks like, and is the same size as a 1/8 inch mini stereo/audio/mic plug but instead of two lines on the shank(stereo), it has three. I'm not sure such a cable extension is actually manufactured.
