Battery issues
2 problems here;
1: I stupidly let my kid brother use my Pc330e not too long ago... he left it out in the rain...
The ccd chips died (replaced at my expense) but it now has an annoying tendancy to forget all settings and dates etc. whenever you take the battery out. Im assuming this is because the internal battery suffered due to my little bro's stupidity.
I opened up the housing to find it, its in the front, just to the lcd-side of the dc-in and firewire ports. Problem is, its SOLDERED into position between two contact plates...
I was just wondering wat you guys think, should I get a cuircit tester to make sure its JUST the battery, and not the whole chip? or just go ahead, rip the battery out and solder in a new one?
2: I bought a qm91D infolithium so I can use the cam all day without thinking about it. Bit on the bulky side arent they...
Recently, after not using the cam for a couple of months due to bro braking it (lef the battery in a drawer, fully charged), I went to charge the qm91D only to find I get a flashing light with 'warning' flashing on th charger screen.
It worked in the cam, until I decided to charge the thing by plugging the camera in, now the battery wont power up the cam at all. Yet I can still get a capacity reading off the battery itself, which reads empty.
Any wisdom as to how I might rescue it?
Thanks a lot,
-T
