SR11/12 - LANC control INSIDE video port?

I'm buying a new sony underwater sportpack for my SR12. I was looking at the case in the store yesterday and noticed that the controll circuit on the top of the case connects to the camera via a cable to the video port!

Question: does anybody realize that the newer style Sony video port has pin outs for LANC style camera control? (I thought it was for analog video only)

Evidently,...2 of those pins are LANC "data". (prolly shares ground with video ground pin)

If that's the case,...I wonder if I can rig my old tripod LANC camera remote to the SR12.

Anybody know the scematic for the video jack?

Wow,..I'm very supprised.

CT

Sony came out with remote control similar to LANC.
Check out RM-AV2.
It has variable zoom, stop, start, pause and photo buttons.
