Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition (Questions)

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition

Is what i wish to buy someday but they dont come cheap in australia.

I have a few questions and was wondering does this software comes with Optical image stabiliser (OIS) ? Because most camcorders dosnt do a great deal with OIS perhaps software can acure that pretty well.

Second question,
is thwere options with this software where it may be posible to do slow motion video as in the very slowest motion, So for example ive film a person runing across my camcorder as i was filming i want to make that scence in very slowest motion posible but without getting that bad viewing where it still is hard to see it clearly as something runs so quick across when your filming something ? Ive seen camcorders with this option but not all camcorders may have this so wondering how good the software may be if it has that along with it. So if i was to film someone runing fast.. i like to record it in real slow motion the slowest posible.. This is pretty much test projects to see what it would look like suppose. And yes i film in HD.

thanks

No software had OIS. OIS stands for Optical Image Stabilization, which is a physical part of the lense.

Some softwares have an electronic stabilization effect (which lowers video quality) but Vegas doesn't have this feature.

hmm thats shame because these software cost alot here where i am.. You would think it would have thatoptions when editing video there... Well i do want sony but if it dosnt have OIS settings and the slow video motion then the software would be useless for me. Oh though i do want interesting visual effects.. 3D and everything but with the 2 major questions i wish to know dosnt mean that this software would have it. Then i wonder what els its not there.

It qwould had been nice to have these 2 things ive meantion on this software.. Since the software cost quite alot though.

I think you misunderstood Matt's comment. OIS--keyword "optical"--is a cam feature. That doesn't mean you can't improve jerky video after it's been shot. Merely that it's not called OIS.

There's a free program called DeShaker that will stabilize jumpy video. It's a filter for the popular Virtualdub program which you can Google.

I'm pretty sure Vegas Movie Studio Platinum has the ability to slow down video clips but the quality depends on the quality of the source video. Sometimes interlaced video doesn't look so good when slowed way down. You might have a better chance with HD since you've got more resolution to begin with.

Good luck.

Wink Slow Motion / HD Camera

Mate, get yourself a Canon HV-20 or HV-30. Use Vegas to edit with. All you do is record in interlaced mode at 50/60 shutter speed. Then import them into your Vegas, slow it down to about 40% and there you go. Smooth slow motion.

You can even pull off time lapse video with this software.

About Optical Image Stabaliser. As said in other posts it's a physical proccess achieved by the camera during the shooting. The Canon HV's have this process, works great. Better than the virtual version.

Good luck
