My guess will be that they use the same CCD. Picture qualtiy from them should be same or very close.

GZMS100 is a tad smaller, should have a tad bit more battery life (no moving parts!).

I recently bought GZMS100 and so far I like it. Picture qulaity is very good (same or better than as my previous JVC MiniDV GR-D750U). The drag and drop convenience for video clips is priceless. My old battery from GR-D750U works great on my new GZMS100. Also, the review on this site mentiones that the camcorder creates separate video and audio files- that is not correct.

On the -ve side, the GZMS100 is a bit slow. You press too many buttons too fast, it takes a sec to catchup (like if I try to zoom in/out as soon as I stop recording, it does not respond for a couple of seconds).

Why did I choose GZMS100 over GZMG330? Mostly because I like the idea of having a totally solid state camcorder, no moving parts. Plus SDHC card prices will go down (just bought a 16GB card today for under $50 AR), so at some point in time, you can buy multipe SD cards. Say 3 or 4 16GB cards could last you a week long vacation, without having to backup every night. With GZMG330, you are limted to 30GB. After that, you must backup! If I read correctly, the microSD card slot is just for stills, not for video.

On the GZ-MG330, the MicroSDHC slot is for pictures AND video.Anyways, ajny is right, the MS100 is a better choise because you can always buy more SDHC cards, so you're not limited to memory! Soon the 32GB SDHC card will be available and soon all the card prices will fall! It's more worth it!
