I had GS120 and I was very happy with it for 3.5 years. Last year the LCD went dead and I am asked for $202 to have it fixed. As I am looking at getting a new one I thought I should go for GS500. I quick look at the message board shows that there are a number of people complaining about the similar issue with GS250, 350 I think.

Is the LCD issues a known problem with the Panasonic Mini DV camcorders or this is just a coincidence?

I've had my GS500 for over a year with no problems.

I don't think the LCD's had problems. I don't remember a lot of complaints about them.
