Buying a SR11 or 12 this week... Need help on a safe place to buy.
It's time, my new PC is on order and my son is scheduled to be delivered by c-section on 7/15. So I need to get off my butt and order this camcorder.
Anyone got recommendations on where to buy an SR11 (or 12)? Of course I would like to buy it at the lowest price possible, but I'll pay a few dollars more if the place I buy it at gives me less headaches if problems arise. Best Buy online had the SR12 on sale for $1190 a little while back. I should have gotten there, but I was still researching which camcorder I wanted to buy. Abe's of Maine has the best price I've seen over the past few weeks... $1230ish for the SR12. Has anyone purchased from Abe's?
Any info would help. Thanks!

B&H Photo had the best price I found from a reliable reseller for the SR11. They seem kind of high on the SR12 though

I have dealt with B&H a few times on and off over the past 30 years or so. I have always had excellent results with them: B&H Photo
I have also had excellent results with newegg over the last three years: NewEgg
There are other good dealers; but I do not have any recent experience with them in purchasing camcorders.
Please check ResellerRatings before you make a purchase with any on-line merchant, Enter the store name in the "Enter STORE Name: (i.e. Newegg)" search block.
There are many on-line merchants who are not as honest as their web site might claim.

I found that site a few weeks ago... very helpful.
What is the difference between the HDR-SR11 and the HDR-SR11E?

I got it... the "E" at the end means European model... can't be use in the US.

Try Costco. I purchased my SR11 for $1,049. Just checked online also. It is available for the same price as in the store. You have to be a member. It does not display the price online. However if you have an online account, once you put it in your cart, it will show $1,049.
I have the camera and I love it.

I purchased an SR11 at Beach Camera for $1065. They have a 5 star rating on Price Grabber (my favorite shopping website).
The camcorder was shipped the same day I ordered it. No pressure to buy accessories or extended warranty (a high profit margin item), and they supplied an invoice without asking.
I will shop there again.
