New Rode pro NTG-3 shotgun
There's a new Rode pro grade shotgun in town. The NTG-3 has some great features and comes with a killer diller cylinder for protection.
It fits the Rycote 3 blimp as well. Just $US699.
I've just got one and she sounds sweeeet!

Care to post a review? You may not wish to get as detailed as this
or this but if you could post some sample audio clips that would be nice.
Good luck.

Hi Dennis. Well the NTG-3 is a major step up in a few areas. Firstly for Rode, it'll be the biggest selling shotgun. Its price'll let many users hear a pro grade mic for the first time and let many people have a shot at the professional recording industry.
When you get a new mic you unpack it, plug it in and listen to the surroundings. Could be the living room, study, any room in the house. I'm no different, I did this plugged it into my Canon A1 with a set of Koss headphones.
I set the levels and listened, nothing. I switched off the 48volts while asking my wife to come in and help me test it by speaking while I checked the connections. She came in and waited, I switched it on, still nothing. So I just nodded at her and she says 'testing testing'
Jeez, I jumped, her voice seemed to appear out of nowhere right in my ears. I looked, listened, there was just no background noise from the mic whatsoever.
She says, 'how's that?' I jumped again, phew. I haven't heard that effect since we sold all our Neumann mics with our studios a few years ago. This mic is definitely pro grade in all respects, it's crystal clear with a warm sound and lovely sounding sibilance. I listened to her some more she moved off to the side and I heard the great side sound rejection.
It is very well worth considering, check the specs it needs a 48volt power feed. With a good mic preamp it'll really deliver the goods. I'm off to test it further.

Good luck.

Hey Ty! Just wondering if you ever got your review of the Audio Technica 1800 Series Wireless stuff. Is that article available on line?
I still haven't purchased my own wireless due to the overwhelming urge to buy more and more musical equipment, rather than boring old wireless mics.... I'll still need them eventually though.
Thanks.

Thanks for asking.
It's up in the mic review folder.
