Sanyo Xacti HD1000 or Panasonic SDR150?

I no more need bulky camcorders even if the Sony DCR TRV940E served me very well, as in the past the vertical Mini DV Sony PC8.
I would like to buy a compact vertical camcorder recording on flash memory with good quality video capability, not interested in still camera feat. at all.
I ask you suggestion since the Sony TG3 is out of budget for my needs, the Panasonic SDR 150 and the Sanyo Xacti HD1000 are those I'm looking at.
I actually have a 32" 16:9 100Hz CRT TV but for sure the next will be a an HD Plasma TV.
1) Which camera will give me best video quality considering the XP standard on the Panasonic and the HD 720p on the Sanyo? (I red many reviews and this is the best quality setting for the Sanyo, better than the 1080i) How is the 720p quality on the Sanyo seen on a HD TV?
2) How can I edit and then create DVD videos with the Sanyo's HD 720p files? Latest versions of the Pinnacle Studio or Adobe Premiere?

Thanks all for your help
Gian
