Correct Battery and Chargeing Time?

Ok, just got an SR11. Put the battery in and hooked up the AC last night. This morning the Charge light is still on?

Also, the battery is a NP-FH60, 7.2V 7.2Wh. The accessories pamphlet that came with the camera only shows NP-FH50 up to 65 Mins, NP-FH70 up to 140 Mins and NP-FH100 up to 320 Mins...and all are 6.8V. There is no NP-FH60 mentioned?? Is this the correct battery, even with the voltage difference? If so, how long is the recording time?

I will be going out of town later and would really appreciate a quick answer if you know!

Thanks,

Ray

Ray,

The manual shows that the NP-FH60 is the supplied manual (Page 5)

There are various Sony batteries which you can use, they must be "H Series" batteries (like what you have NP-FH60) (Page 9 of the manual)

Do not be concerned about the minor voltage differences. (Some are maximum voltage rating, open circuit voltage rating, loaded voltage rating or some other vague unspecified specification.)

The recording time is 40 to 105 minutes depending on the conditions shown in the manual on page 10.

Thanks Rich. I just got a little concerned when I did not find the FH60 battery on the Sony website. It must be MD'ed and replaced by the FP70?

Over the years, Sony has supplied smaller capacity batteries with their camcorders which are not available to be purchased seperately. Canon has done this in the past also.

Sony has also replaced some of the older battery designs with newer models.

In Europe the SR11 and SR12 are delivered with NP-FH60 batteries. They are also part of the starter pack (NP-FH60 + case).

The voltage difference between the NP-FH60 and NP-FH70 is correct. On my SR12 the recording time with an NP-FH60 is between 120 and 130 min. In hot Arizona that might be different than in cold Luxembourg.

I purchased a Hähnel quick charger and it charges both the NP-FH60 and 70 in about 45 minutes.
