Hi Popa,I've never tried this myself but it's my understanding you can take the DVD put it in your computer DVD player, explore the disk, the actual video files have a .VOB extension on them.Copy those files to your computer hard disk, now rename the VOB extension's to MPG.Thats it ,your computer should recognize them as standard mpeg files now and play them. Also any video editor should recognize them for editing.
Dennis
PS the DVD has to be "closed out" from your camcorder functions for your computer to be able to read it.

Yikes!
Sorry for the late answer on this one.
The disc in the cam MUST be finalized for you to access the files. This is because the .ifo .bup and .vob files that you find in a DVD have not been written yet and they are essential.

Just connecting the cam to a computer will not work because DVDs cams are designed to be detected by Windoze as USB Mass Storage Device. Because of that you need Image Mixer.

What you can try is to go to the DVD site in my signature and check the page for handling unfinalized DVDs if finalization is out of the question.

If you can finalize the disc then do so. After, take the disc out of the cam and use any video editing software (except Winows Movie Maker) to import the DVD video files.
