Unhappy I cannot export back to my GS300. HELP!!

I am trying to export a project from Adobe Premiere Elements back to MiniDV tape without success. I have the Panasonic PV-GS300. I click on the Export to tape option, and the window shows that it's rendering, but the camera won't start to record. Instruction manual is not much help. Are you supposed to have the camera "on" and in the record mode? That's what I have been doing.

Please help me with this frustrating problem.

Thanks, Hank

I don't have a GS300 but I believe you need to have the cam in Play mode. You aren't really recording as far as the cam is concerned. That's done through the lens. You are merely writing a video stream through the Firewire port. Just as a capture (sending the stream from cam to computer) over Firewire requires the cam to be in Play mode, so does writing back to it.

Good luck.

Dennis

Dennis is right, the camera goes in Playback mode.

Many, many thanks Dennis and Matt. That did the trick--putting the camera in the "play" mode. Didn't seem logical to me, but it solved this very frustrating problem for me. Thanks again. Hank
