I had Video Studio 11.5. The computer died, couldn't the disk. Bought a new computer, bought another Video Studio, this time Pro X2.

It's having difficulty reading the old 11.5 vsp files. It will open them all right, shows the project with the clips and what not. Only problem is everything is blank.

I enter the old video clips into the library and still everything is blank. I create a smart proxy file. Still blank.

I could start over some projects, but I'd like to just bring in the old project files.

Any thoughts?

The .vsp files you are trying to load will have the exact information regarding your projects including what files were used and WHERE they are...on the old computer.
If you see a blank where there should be a thumbnail of a video file then you will have to manually re-link the file because VS is looking along the path it knows...from the old computer.
