Help with fireworks settings.

HI All,

New to the forum!

I have an HF100

I run a fireworks company and we video all our fireworks for the website and the shop. The firework setting is great but i find that you get a lot of glow and trail which can make it look really dirty. Does anyone else get this as other videos i've seen on vimeo etc don't seem to suffer? May be I will upload a sample from my camera.

Can anyone suggest some manual settings to try.

Thanks in advance.

Try spotlight and set frame rate to progressive to get better light sensitivity (30p or 24p if you find that motion is still ok for you).

The trick is locking the exposure so that it won't add gain and slow down the shutter speed.

The spotlight mode will lock gain to 0. Picture might be very dark but for Christmas lights or fireworks it works great (the fireworks indeed can have a strange glow).
