Idiot needs help burning video from a JVC Everio GZ-MG130U

They should change this site to www.idiotslasthope.com, because it is my last hope. I am at the end of my rope.

I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG130U. I can take video with it. I can save the files to my back up folder. I can edit the videos with the supplied software. I can even take several small videos and put them together to make a larger video. On one occasion, I was even bright enough to put a music track over the video. Then it came time to burn my home videos onto a DVD.........EPIC FAIL!!!!

For example : I let my Mother- and Father-In-Law take my camera with them on their trip to Alaska so they wouldn't have to bother with tapes. Well they ended up taking 153 videos. All 153 videos total up to 3,332.89 MB. I am using 4.7 GB Memorex DVD-RW discs. I took a stab at just burning a couple files to a DVD just to see if it would work. It worked fine. Since the videos are not very long, I tried to just burn them as is. Well the DVD burning software has a 50 file limit. Then I went through and started using the video editor to condense the videos down to four or five videos. After I did that, I tried to burn the condensed files onto a disc. If I remember correctly, the software went through all the motions (even saying that it was successful) but it wouldn’t play in my DVD player. The reason I say “If I remember correctly…” is because I got aggravated and quit. I am pretty sure I tried it in all four available formats too.

Does anyone have advice for me? Any help would be appreciated. Especially appreciated from my computer. I am sure it is sick and tired of that “weird psycho guy” swearing at it.
