Can anyone talk to me about a video editing program?
Here is what I need.

I have hours and hours of video footage on the computer, shot directly onto digital with a point and shoot video cam and downloaded directly into the computer, or shot onto a mini DVD with a Sony Handycam and downloaded into the computer.

I have a decent version of Simple Movie Maker 2.0 but it really does little mre than slice and trim. It does add audio background but does not allow
mixing music and voice. It also does not clean the imagery, as in adding special effects removing camera shake cropping etc.....

I need to take the raw clips and put them into films and burn them on DVD. Sometimes I will just post them onto YouTube. I need to be able to trim the clips crop, zoom, maybe clean them a little (not much) I want to add titles, soundtracks, I want to add background music and effects without totally masking the prerecorded audio.
And I want it to burn ont a DVD when I am done.

We have Sony Vegas 9.0 B Platinum Pro. I think maybe we got a bad or defective program there, for whatever reason , maybe it is too difficult for college grads, but for whatever reason, it does not work. So we want something different.

PLEASE PLEASE Don't tell me that Sony Vegas does all of that. I have it right here on my computer, and trust me, believe me, it DOES NOT do any of that.

I wondered about Adobe. How well does it actually work, do they have tech support, how easy it is to use etc.....
Is it useful for what I need?
