Although I am not sure, it does not appear that Sony includes software that would provide this functionality.
Does anyone know of a program that I can use to do this?
Just tried loading Free Video Dub and after spening a few hours, I can't get the program to do what I want. I don't want to spend a lot of $ on software that does much more than this.
Looks like Windows Movie Maker would do I want but I do want the file changed from MPG to WMV. I want to keep my mpg files in the exact same format they are in now once I downloaded them with Sony camcorder.
Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi
The cheapest solution I know is to use the two freewares pvastrumento and cuttermaran.
Cuttermaran is a mpeg2 cutting and joining sw, unfortunately it requires the mpeg2 source files split in audio and video part.
That's why pvastrumento is required. It is used to split(demultiplex) your original mpeg2 files into seperate audio and video files to load them into cuttermaran.
If you also like to add titles, insert transitions etc then you need to spend some money for an NLE package like Ulead Videostudio or Magix.
