I am looking at the Rode VideoMic Directional Shotgun Mic to use on my Sony HDR SR12. Not sure if it will mount on the Sony shoe. Any help will be appreciated.
It won't. As with all Sony small cams, you need to get an AIS to Cold shoe adapter. B&H has them.
Only the Sony mics will fit directly to the AIS. But the VideoMic is a much better mic.
