Actually, I can tell you what beats that price
http://www.digitalfotoclub.com
I just got one last week from this place and it is 2079 before rebate, which brings you close to 1800 for this camera!!! The only complaint though is it took 2 days to process, but other then that, it was awesome

Check out the address:
DIGITAL FOTO CLUB
1303 53rd Street #300
Brooklyn, NY 11219
Canons Link for Authorized Dealers:

Well as you can find out for yourself they don't exist from Canon, Sony, Panasonic, and even JVC! If anybody still wants to take a chance, it once was your money now that money belongs to "them", "ouch that hurts"!!!

Another thing! If you buy from an unauthorized dealer, guess what? You don't get a rebate! So you paid $2079.00 not $1829, or $1800, but a whopping "$2079.00" "ouch that hurts"!!!

Well, camera was new, and they didn't do that accessory thing you were talking about, so I guess I was fine on that, now I guess I will have to see if the rebate goes through or not, I hope it does though.

Okay you got a grey camera then, or no serial number. If you don't believe Canon's very own web site then call them @ Canon: 800-652-2666 Give them Model#, Dealer Zip code, and Dealer name.

Just wanted to add that if you look on ResellerRatings.com, Digital Foto Club actually has a very good rating (9.39).
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2889-p3.html
And this is not just from a couple of people (or false postings). It seems pretty consistant. Perhaps you guys are talking about two different companies?
I know that there are ALOT of scumbags out there that would not hesitate to rip you off but maybe these guys are alright.
Just some thoughts.

It appears that DigitalFotoClub.com is the same company as FocusCamera.com who is an authorized Canon dealer. It's seems shady to compete with yourself, but after some proper investigation they are the same. Canon how ever will not take the rebate from a DigitalFotoClub.com sales slip, so you do have to have a FocusCamera.com slip period. So if they slip up and send you the wrong receipt then you don't get your $250.00 rebate.

well, I guess if I wouldn't of just cashed the check the other day straight from canon, I would have had to take a picture of it and posted it up here so you would believe me.

Funny (Maybe) but I got this reply from Digitalphoto regarding my order.
I found this thread, http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/sh...threadid=16260, 1 hr. after I placed my order for a Canon Gl2 with your store. They claim you are not an authorized Canon dealer and as such, the $250 rebate which you included in your sales price will not be honored. Whats up ?
Thank you (I hope!) , for a speedy reply and resolution to my question. David E. Bohn
And their reply;
You will definitely receive the rebate.

How long did it take to get your check from the time you sent the slip in untill you received it?
