Canon XL2

I'd like to preface this by apologizing if this is a repeat post, but I'm new on the board (as you can see, it's my first post ). Canon seems to be keeping the XL2 under pretty tight wraps. Does anyone have any details on updates from the XL1s or even a possible release date? Thanks!

Honestly, no one is going to know anything until Canon decides to release the information to the public them selves. But I wouldn't think it would be to soon.

It was supposed to be last year, maybe the HDV standard has changed their plans. They are seriousely going to have trouble, over here the XL1s is around $5000-6000US.

Right before the GL2 was announced, Canon put huge rebates on the GL1. Now that same rebate is on the GL2. Do the math.

Additionally, a rebate is also being offered for the XL1s. Is the dawn of XL2 and GL3 around the corner?

Let's hope so, I don't like the look of the new Sony model. I also was advised by an industry insider to buy the XL2, some tiime ago.

I am sure Canon will make this long wait worth while. Canon has never let the buyers down. Sony's vx2100/pd170 wasn't much of an improvement. So I think Canon recognized that and will release some competitive models.
