I make my own independent films. When i read about the Gl1 i thought that i would never in this world be able to have it. but then one day, my dad purchased it for me. Even though i am young, I have a great knowledge about camcorders and their inner workings. I love the GL1 for it\'s profesional design and it\'s long list of features. Most people say that the color viewfinder makes it hard to focus. DONT LISTEN TO THEM. Those are the people that dont have good eyesite. It is incredibly easy to focus because once you see a good picture you know it is focused. It is that simple. Second, I love the camera\'s weight and hand held, compact, style. It\'s easy to hold, but is heavy enough to feel like you\'ve got something very unique in your hand. The focus "ring" is great too. You don\'t have to use a flexi-zone focus or dials anymore. Just turn the ring until you get a good picture. The only thing i don\'t like about this camcorder is that, when in a slightly lit place, almost everything is overexposed. To escape this problem you have to adjust the shutter and gain, but you lose detail and picture quality when setting these lower. My conclusion is that i love this camcorder and will stick with it for a while. I purchased this product at $2,280.

The LCD IS handy for being able to hold the camera in diff. positions which makes up for it being hard to focus (it is easier to focus in b&w than color) but this is a great camera. The best features are frame mode and full manual mode allows you to control the image completely: shutter speed aperature exposure white balance and focusing.
