A-to-D Conversion on the Cheap with DVDXPress DX2

February 16, 2006 - ADS Tech has announced the immediate availability of their new DVD Xpress DX2 hardware/software bundle for analog-to-digital conversion. ADS Tech has become widely recognized in the past for their converter designs for USB and FireWire solutions at prices even the casual consumer can afford. The DVD Xpress DX2 is the first hardware-based capture device for the iPod video and PSP formats.

The DVD Xpress DX2 has input ports for either RCA or S-Video and connects directly to PC via a USB 2.0 port. Able to convert analog video into MPEG 1, MPEG2, MPEG4, and DivX, video files can immediately be burned directly to disc. This conversion will allow users with analog camcorders, VCRs, television, or other media devices with RCA or S-Video the potential to convert their video content quickly and efficiently into DVD-ready footage. By offering users with multiple MPEG formats, ADS Tech has opened up the possibilities of editing, altering, and re-structuring footage before structuring and burning DVDs.

The DVD Xpress DX2 package comes with an external conversion box as well as two software programs. The ADS Tech Capture Wizard software uses a “Direct-to-Disc Wizard” so that users not looking for complicated editing structures are able to immediately capture and then burn footage to VCD, SVCD, and DVD. If users do opt for a more hand-on experience they can turn to the second software application, the Ulead VideoStudio 9 SE DVD. This software allows for video, slideshow, music, and data discs to be recorded through a wizard system, with an interface designed for the inexperienced user. The VideoStudio9 structure also offers options for transitions, titles, soundtrack, and video filters to be included in the final DVD.
