- ATP Inc. has just announced the release of their latest CompactFlash card with a 4GB capacity. It looks to capitalize on the success garnered by their 2GB CF cards which began selling in December.

This latest flash media card by ATP is advertised as having the fastest transfer rate of any CF card on the market today – a rate of 22.5Mbps. This speed allows for quick file transfers as well as seamless multimedia streaming, essential for digital SLRs and JVC camcorders like the GZ-MC500 (Review, Specs, $669.99), which can use MicroDrive card or other CF cards for capturing video and stills.

According to Tim Hsieh, ATP president, the popularity is, “overwhelmingly positive. The ultra high performance capabilities of ATP memory storage solutions allow for high speed video capturing in addition to faster digital still image shooting.”

Consumers will be able to purchase the ProMax 4 GB CF cards by ATP beginning in mid-April, though the price has not been set. The 2GB version is currently retailing online for around $126.00.
