January 17, 2006 – Today Adobe Systems Incorporated announced the release of Adobe Production Studio, a video postproduction suite incorporating and streamlining interaction between Adobe After Effects 7.0, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe Audition 2.0, Adobe Encore 2.0 (all upgraded and also announced today), as well as the latest editions of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator CS2. The suite will also offer new time-saving integration tools, including Adobe Dynamic Link, Bridge, and Clip Notes.

”From individual creatives and videographers to high-end production studios, our customers create award winning work that engages audiences worldwide,” said president and CEO of Adobe Systems, Shantanu Narayen. Adobe, who just last week made headlines with the release of their new Lightroom software, a digital imaging workflow program, seems intent on moving their products towards better interaction. “With unparalleled integration,” said Narayen, “between milestone releases of [these programs]… the workflow productivity that Dynamic Link delivers, and new Flash Video Support, Adobe Production Studio saves users time so they can focus on their creative challenges.”

Adobe Production Studio will allow After Effects compositions to be moved directly into Premiere Pro and Encore without rendering. Capturing video will also be possible while in After Effects. The Production Studio suite also features a unified interface design, automatic updates when a project is modified in any program, and Adobe Bridge, a cross-program file browser.

Newly added to Premiere Pro and After Effects is the ability to export Flash video files. In December, Adobe purchased the major software manufacturer Macromedia, which held Flash among its many ownings.

Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and After Effects 7.0 will also support high definition (HD) at popular resolution and frame rates, and can be edited natively. High-fidelity audio output is also available with support for 32 bit audio.

Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio is available for Windows XP as a standalone purchase or as part of the Adobe Video Bundle. A Standard Edition is also available, with After Effects Standard, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop with Dynamic Link. Prices range from US $1699 for the Premium Edition, US $1199 for the Standard Edition, and US $1999 for the Adobe Video Bundle, which includes Production Studio and Flash Professional 8.
