At this year's CES we got our first hands-on impressions of the Canon Vixia HF M52.

Introduction

At this year's CES we got our first hands-on impressions of the Canon Vixia HF M52. This camcorder has some new and improved features over its predecessor, the M41, including WiFi connectivity, audio scene modes, and MP4 video recording. The new scene modes should allow for better recordings, which can then be uploaded in MP4 format directly to YouTube or Facebook.

Some hardware features have also been improved and brought up to date. The M52's sensor works better than its preceding model, also the Story Creator now has more frequent and more detailed tips. The camcorder also offers a new Intelligent Optical Image Stabilizer, which can be adjusted between four specialized operating modes. The M52 is also capable of saving backups directly to an external hard drive.
