PlaybackThe playback controls on the Canon HF S10 are simple and straightforward. Clips are neatly organized as thumbnails on the screen, and you use the joystick to toggle through and the select the one you want. We've always been big fans of clearly labeled playback controls, and Canon's are typically among the best. Along the bottom of the LCD screen are dedicated start/pause and stop buttons.
Connectivity
Part of the HF S10's appeal is a great set of connections for input and output. Most of the ports are easy to access and won't get in the way of shooting. The series of ports under the hand strap – USB, component-out, and HDMI – are awkwardly placed, but you'll never need them while shooting, so it's easily forgivable.
