Sony Releases New Bloggie Camcorders With Touchscreens: the MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10
Sony added two more members to its line of ultracompact Bloggie camcorders with the release of the MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10. The new Bloggies have the surname "Touch" because of the addition of a 3-inch touchscreen, which is the primary new feature on these models. In addition to the new touch-sensitive LCDs, the new Bloggies offer Full HD 1080p HD recording, built-in USB connectors, HDMI outputs, and 12.8-megapixel CMOS sensors. You can expect to see the Bloggie Touch models hitting the shelves in October of this year.

Canon Vixia HF20 Camcorder Review Photo Gallery

The Canon HF20 has a built-in flash for still photography. Settings include auto, red-eye reduction, and on/off.

The built-in microphone is mounted up front below the lens. It records 2-channel Dolby audio.

Compared to its high-end cousins, the HF20 has a small lens.

The 15x optical zoom Canon lens.

The hand strap is comfortably padded, but obscures the USB and HDMI terminals.

Use the mode dial to switch between photo, video, and the erroneously named dual shooting mode. (You can dual-shoot photos and videos in video mode... this is really just the easy mode.)

The USB and HDMI ports are hidden beneath the hand strap.

The back of the Canon HF20 is a smooth, barren surface.

Hiding behind a surreptitious port cover is the mini microphone input and component output.

On the bottom is a DC power input.

The BP-809 battery that ships with the HF20 has average performance and above-average aesthetics.

Just a sleek blank surface on the left side.

Open the LCD panel to discover a handful of operational buttons and the LCD itself.

Within the cavity is an output that doubles as a headphone jack and standard composite output.

The SD/SDHC memory card slot holds your secondary media.

The 2.7-inch LCD and the mounted joystick.

The joystick is serviceable... better than the joystick on the Sanyo VPC-HD2000, but not the best joystick there is.

The accessory shoe is hot (powered), but proprietary.

The zoom toggle works well and can be set to a variable speed or one of three specified speeds.

The top features the still photo shutter button, zoom toggle, accessory shoe, and power button.

Nothing here except a tripod mount and battery release.

The infamous video snap button serves no special purpose that we could determine. You can string clips together and add music in any mode.

The HF20 fits easily in the hand, but it is not the easiest camcorder to hold.
