March 23, 2006 - Today, Focus Enhancements announced the release of the FireStore DR-HD100 Direct to Edit (DTE) recorder. The device, which comes in 40GB and 80GB capacities, in designed to interface directly with the ProHD JVC GY-HD100 series of camcorders.
“The DR-HD100 allows JVC ProHD camcorder owners to seamlessly add a tape-less component to their workflow to extend record times, ensure error free recordings and streamline the entire video production workflow,” said Craig Yanagi, National Marketing Manager, Creation Products for JVC Professional.
Among the DR-HD100’s features are the ability to monitor DTE status in the camcorder’s viewfinder, multiple compression formats for DV (Avid OMF, QuickTime, Canopus AVI, AVI Type 2) and HD (720p M2T).
The device has an 16-button display on the front, along with an LCD screen. Ten seconds of cache memory are also available in a retro-record mode, as well as time lapse, and scene marking.
The 40GB version will hold about 3 hours of DV or 4.5 hours of HDV 720p); the 80GB version will hold approximately 6 hours of DV or nearly 9 hours of HDV 720p.
The DR-HD100 is available for $1495 in the 40GB version, and $1895 for the 80GB version. An additional 90-minute battery pack sells for $129, and a 3-hour battery for $199. All products are now available. For more information, visit Focus Enhancements.
