First Tests of Blu-ray Burning

The first tests of writing data to a Blu-ray disc are in, and it looks good: PC World did some testing on the drive that they got yesterday, and it wrote out a full 25GB of data to disc in about 45 minutes. That’s about what you would expect from the 2X rated speed of the drive, and translates to around 67 Mbps. Hopefully they’ll do some testing on writing out high def video to disc soon: it would be interesting to see how long that takes to encode and write…
