Hitach To Offer Blu-Ray And AVCHD Camcorders in 2007

 This news report claims that Hitachi are planning to offer both a Blu-ray and AVCHD camcorder in the US market in 2007. It quotes Jeff Fochtman of Hitachi as saying that “we plan to support both”. We have previously covered how Hitachi were planning a Blu-ray camcorder within 2 years, but this seems significantly more ambitious. The Blu-ray camcorder is planned to be priced at around $1500 and will be slightly larger than a DVD camcorder. Frustratingly, there are no more details than that in the story, but it could be that a Blu-ray camcorder is closer than anyone thought…Technorati Tags:
