May 09, 2006JVC Announces GZ-MG505 - New Top of the Line Everio
May 9, 2006 - Today JVC announced the GZ-MG505, a 3 CCD camcorder that will serves as the flagship of the Everio hard disk drive series. The camcorder will offer 30GB of space, which allows for seven hours of the highest quality video.

The GZ-MG505 features three native 16:9 CCDs, each measuring 1/4.5 inches, with 1.33 gross MP (1.23 effective MP). Using pixel shifting technology, it capture stills up to 2560 x 1920 (about 5MP). The camcorder offers 10x optical zoom and 300x digital zoom. Like Everios before it, the MG505 comes equipped with a 112K 2.7 inch LCD, digital image stabilization, and the Index / Data feature for battery and capacity information.
Other features on the GZ505 include JVC’s 3D Noise Reduction, which reduced flicker and increases signal-to-noise ratio, as well as manual shutter speed and enhanced aperture priority modes. Still capability is improved with a built-in flash and dedicated SD card slot.

Accessing data from the GZ-MG505 is possible with an A/V / S-Video output jack and a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection. The camcorder also features a cold accessory shoe on top and a microphone-in jack. The MG505 is fully compatible with the Everio Share Station DVD burner CU-VD101 for one-touch archiving.
The GZ-MG505 will available in July for an MSRP of $1300.
