JVC GZ-MG47 Surfaces in Europe and Japan

May 9, 2006 - Danish and Japanese JVC web sources are now reporting on the GZ-MG47. The new model will feature 20GB internal memory, 15x optical zoom, and a f1.2 lens. JVC USA has no plans, as of yet, to offer an US version of the camcorder.

Information, available on JVC’s European and Japanese sites, is sparse. The MG47 will offer 3D Noise Reduction and 700x digital zoom. Like other Everios, the camcorder will also feature a 2.7 inch widescreen LCD, battery and memory capacity display, and joystick control. It will support PictBridge compatibility and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connections. 

"We have no plans to bring that model here," said Terry Shea, JVC's General Manager of Communications. This does not come as a total surprise. The MG47 would likely fill the slim gap between two current US models, the GZ-MG37 (Review, Specs, $384.95) ($670 street price) and the GZ-MG77 (Review, Specs, $467.95) ($799 street price).
