April 10, 2006 - Today, JVC Japan announced that the GR-D650 will be available in two new colors. Powder Pink and Aqua Blue. The GR-D650, which had a slated release date of February 2006, will feature “Baby” colors that are being marketed towards expectant parents seeking the perfect pastel camcorder. The 15x optical, 1.33 MP CCD camcorder was originally only available in a metallic silver body.
This announcement does not, however, affect the original specifications of the GR-D650 in regards to imager size, the 2.5 inch LCD screen, or the f/1.2 lens. The body modification announcement currently pertains to the Japanese market, and JVC America has made no statement regarding the release of this camcorder to the North American market. The JVC GR-D650 has an approximate MSRP in the United States of $450. Pink and blue Japanese versions will hit shelves in May.
