September 10, 2007- Media 100, that long-standing NLE developer, has announced version 12.0. An upgrade to their most recent software, version 12.0 supports progressive frame formats for importing and exporting. The new version of Media 100 also integrates plug-ins from Boris FX, the parent company and developer of graphics and effects. Boris FX plug-ins and filters can be found within Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, Avid, Grass Valley, Media 100, and Sony products.”With Media 100’s progressive frame support, users can shoot, edit and output in any of the popular progressive frame rates available with today’s most popular acquisition and playback devices. With the Boris FX integration, they will be able to edit and create stunning effects right from the Media 100 timeline,” says David Colantuoni, General Manager, Media 100.
Currently, Media 100 is available in two different high definition editions—Media 100 HD Suite and Media 100 HDe. Both editions support the following progressive frame rates with the 12.0 upgrade: 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080 PsF* 23.98, 1080 PsF 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, and 1080p 30. Media 100 HD Suite will also support 480p, 720p 23.98, and all progressive formats support real time, render-free playback.
All Boris FX clip effects and transitions can be stored as favorites for an excelled workflow, and can be processed in 16 bit per channel color space. Purportedly, the Boris FX plug-ins function optimally in conjunction with Mac-Intel processors.
Media 100 12.0 is set to ship sometime within Q3 2007. Those who already own Media 100 Platinum Software Agreements will receive a free upgrade. A Media 100 Platinum Software Agreement can be purchased for $895. More information and ordering are available at the company website.
