January 13th, 2006 - Noise Industries, a Boston-based software company, announced today the immediate availability of Organoptics FX software. This software program, developed by digital compositer Roger Bolton, will be bundled with Factory Tools Pro for Avid Xpress DV, Avid Xpress Pro, and Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems.

Organoptics FX creates digital effects for the broadcast and film industry and is able to produce, “subtle organic visual effects,” stated Bolton. It produces composites and visual effects in “native, real-time,” according to Gabriele de Simone, founder of Noise Industries. Factory Tools is the first software program which is able to engage and apply effects while working within the Avid AVX architecture on a Mac platform.

When using the Organoptics FX software suite, users will be able to manipulate image parameters with effects that include Camera Shake, Depth Blur Gradient, Dewrinkler, Blur Luminance, God Rays, Optical Glow, and Vignette. Samples of these effects can be seen here. In total, 31 effects are being released with this first version of Organoptics FX.

Bolton’s film credits include such notable Hollywood blockbusters as “House of Flying Daggers”, “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings”, and “Harry Potter IV”. Organoptics FX is his first effects package for Avid.

Noise Industries Factory Floor, either the Basic or Pro edition, is required for Organoptics FX Pack 1 to run. Pro users can download the program for free. Purchase price for Basic users has been set at $99, and is available on their website for ordering or download.
