This week in business showed that online video content is on its way to monetization. With all the user-generated content and Internet TV shows, it’s about time big firms like Google and VideoEgg found a way to capitalize on it, that is, while giving a cut to video creators.Google add AdSense to video – On Wednesday, Google finally offered AdSense for video. The ad revenue sharing between the video creator and that website that hosts them will allow producers to earn money. With InVideo overlay, the producer would earn a percent of revenue based on the number of clicks on embedded advertisements. Right now, those that qualify are U.S. sites with at least one million video streams per month. [via Wired]
VideoEgg adds AdFrames – Video platform provider VideoEgg launched AdFrames Brand Response Network, which pays video creators for clicks per thousand impressions by viewers. Ads appear as video overlays, much like those used for YouTube. [via Mashable]
CitySearch and AOL to launch local video search – Local entertainment and events guide CitySearch and AOL plan to release local video search, matching the content of CitySearch with the audience of AOL. CitySearch is not the first to implement local video search. YellowPages and YouTurn recently announced similar deals. [via Reel SEO]
