What’s in the Box?
Opening up the HD2 (Review, Specs, Recent News, $585.36)’s box is like Christmas, and here’s why:
-Hand strap and camera case
-Li-ion battery pack
-S-AV interface cable
-Component cable
-AC adapter and power cord
-Sanyo Software Pack
-Docking station
-USB cable
-Remote control unit and battery (CR2025)
-Lens cap and strap
-Microphone connection cable
-Cable adapter
-Core cable clamps: 2 small, 1 large
-“Safety Manual”
-Quick Guide
Bravo, Sanyo. They’ve given the shooter everything they need and more right out of the box. The step-up HD2EX comes with an HDMI cable, too.
Other Features (3.0)
Smooth Playback - The smooth playback option can be used to "smooth" the look of fast-moving subjects during playback.
Non-Expandable Battery - The Sanyo VPC-HD2 (Review, Specs, Recent News, $585.36) features an enclosed non-expandable battery. Open battery slots generally allow for the use of larger longer life batteries while enclosed slots have a fixed size. This is a common design choice on an ultra-compact camcorder, but it does limit your recording time to the capabilities of the included battery.
Voice Memo Recording - The VPC-HD2 includes an audio memo record feature, located in the Video Clip (quality) settings option of Menu page 1. The audio memo feature is represented by a microphone icon, and when engaged, the camcorder will record audio only when the Record/Start/Stop button is pressed.
